if you mean mutants associated with the spaz soundsystem collective/community, yeah, you'll find some who have migrated there, especially since we lost the warehouses in berkeley. if you mean semi-permanent autonomous zones as a concept in general, yeah, i would imagine you'll find it up there too. someone just told me today about a warehouse that recently opened near downtown pdx called watershed. sounded pretty cool and ambitious.

Not for long. Watershed appears to be up and running, a number of SPAZ people are involved in a confusingly similar project called IzVillage, and I know of a few smaller spaces that are finding their speed. Imagine a Portland dotted with fine sustainable reclaimed warehouse spaces. And the city is so in love with the idea of being artistic and creative right now, they might let us get away with it for quite some time.

So anyone ENTIRELY unsurprised that IzVillage, which collected nearly $8,000 from parties, and $4000 from individual investment and contribution, handed all the money over to Lock, who promptly embezzled/stole/spent ALL of it?

          Phfft. So unsurprised.

          assholes.
